What accessories do I need when I buy a new dive light?
At minimum, check whether the light comes with a lanyard, wrist strap, Goodman handle, or Goodman glove — some lights include these, others sell them separately. If you plan to use the light as a primary on night dives, a Goodman handle or glove is worth adding if not included — it frees both hands while keeping the light pointed in your direction of gaze. For any rechargeable light, check what charging cable or charger is included and whether you need a separate charger. For travel, carrying a spare battery pack or a set of disposable batteries (if the light accepts them) ensures you have power for the dive even if charging was incomplete. For backup lights, a short bolt snap or coil lanyard allows secure clipping to a D-ring.
How do I know which battery or charger is compatible with my dive light?
