Hard-shell dry boxes vs. soft waterproof bags

It suits electronics, cameras, and fragile items that need more than just splash protection. For a phone or key fob at the beach, a soft case is sufficient. For a camera or dive computer being transported on a zodiac in rough conditions, a hard case is the better choice. The right option depends on how much abuse the case will see and what is inside it.

Waterproof ratings — splash-proof vs. submersion-rated
Not all waterproof bags are equal. Most dry bags and pouches in our range are splash and rain resistant — they protect against splashes, spray, rain, and brief contact with water, but are not designed for sustained submersion. Check the product description for the specific protection level before relying on a case for activities involving submersion or significant water pressure.
