High Quality Gear -  Divemaster & Instructor tested and approved

Buy specialty dive and snorkeling bags in Canada — snorkeling bags with dedicated fin and mask compartments, weight bags for transporting lead weights, camera system backpacks, and eco-friendly reusable bags. Specialty bags solve specific gear transport problems that general-purpose bags do not address well — a dedicated snorkeling bag keeps your set organized and protected, a weight bag makes transporting 20 pounds of lead from your car to the dive site manageable, and a camera backpack protects expensive underwater photography equipment.

What to look for in a specialty bag

Snorkeling bags — purpose-built organization
A dedicated snorkeling bag — such as the Saekodive Snorkeling Bag or Akona Frog Snorkeling Bag — is designed specifically to hold a mask, snorkel, and fins as a coordinated set. The mask fits in a separate protected pocket or compartment away from the fins, which prevents the lens from being scratched by fin buckles and fin feet during transport. A shoulder strap allows hands-free carry to the beach or boat. The Akona Frog Snorkeling Bag includes a tapered design that accommodates fins at the bottom while keeping the mask accessible at the top.

Weight bags — solving a heavy problem
Carrying 15 to 30 pounds of individual lead weights from your car to a dive site is awkward and back-straining — weights shift, dig into your hand, and have no convenient way to be carried. The Akona Yukon Weight Bag is a purpose-built solution: a reinforced bag with heavy-duty handles sized to hold your full weight set in one organized container. At the site, remove the weights and load them onto your belt or BCD pockets. At the end of the dive, the bag keeps spare weights together — they do not roll around in your car or get left behind on the dock.

Camera system bags — protecting expensive equipment
Underwater photography gear — housings, strobes, trays, arms, lenses, and lights — is both expensive and fragile. The Sealife Camera Backpack uses soft breathable padding, adjustable interior dividers, and a padded laptop-style back panel to protect a complete camera system in transit. The Sea Dragon Case is a hard-shell thermoformed case for storing and travelling with a Sealife camera, a strobe, and accessories — it protects against impact in a way no soft bag can. If you travel regularly with an underwater camera system, dedicated padded storage is not optional — a housing that leaks at depth because the o-ring groove was impacted in transit is a painful and expensive lesson.

Eco-friendly and reusable bags
Single-use plastic bags are one of the most common sources of marine debris — a problem that matters particularly to divers and snorkelers who see the impact underwater firsthand. We carry the Blu Bag reusable shopping bag with ocean-themed designs and the TDO Reusable Storage Bag made from BPA-free PEVA — both practical replacements for single-use bags at the dive site, on the boat, and for everyday shopping. Small steps from the diving community toward reducing plastic waste directly benefit the underwater environments we dive in.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best bag for travelling with a snorkeling set?

A dedicated snorkeling bag with separate compartments for the mask, snorkel, and fins is the most organized option. The Saekodive Snorkeling Bag fits a complete mask, snorkel, and fins and includes a shoulder strap for easy carry. The Akona Frog Snorkeling Bag has a tapered design that fits fins naturally and includes a separate mask pocket. For travel where the bag needs to fit inside checked luggage, a mesh drawstring bag works well — it packs flat, fits the snorkeling set loosely, and adds minimal weight to your luggage. The Akona Globetrotter is worth considering if you want to carry your snorkeling gear as carry-on without checking any bags.

Is the Sealife Camera Backpack compatible with other camera brands?

The Sealife Camera Backpack uses adjustable padded dividers rather than brand-specific foam cutouts, making it compatible with a wide range of underwater camera systems — not just Sealife. The adjustable interior can be configured for different housing sizes, strobe combinations, and accessory layouts. The main compartment fits a full compact camera system with housing, strobe, and tray. Check the bag's internal dimensions against your housing footprint before ordering — particularly the depth of the main compartment, which determines whether taller housings fit standing upright or need to be laid flat. Many of our divemasters and instructors are avid underwater photographers and use a variety of camera systems along with the Sea Dragon camera bag.

How much weight can the Akona Yukon Weight Bag hold?

The Akona Yukon Weight Bag is built to hold a full set of dive weights — it is reinforced specifically for the concentrated weight of lead. The bag handles 20 to 30 pounds comfortably, with heavy-duty handles and stitching designed for the load. Individual lead weights without a bag have a tendency to roll under car seats, scratch vehicle interiors, and end up scattered rather than in one place. Carrying your weights with your other gear in a larger gear bag is not recommended because the weights can move around and damage other delicate gear, like your mask, snorkel, fins, or BCD power inflator and clips. The Yukon keeps your weight set together, protects your car from lead scratches, and makes the walk from parking to the dive site significantly less miserable on a multi-dive day.
