What to know about regulator packages

What is included in each package
Every regulator package includes a matched first stage and primary second stage set, a backup second stage (octopus), a two-gauge console with submersible pressure gauge and depth gauge, and a set of rubber hoses. Optional upgrades available at checkout include a three-gauge console adding a compass, and a wrist computer as an add-on. All packages are assembled and pressure-tested in-house before shipping — you receive a complete, ready-to-dive system.

Choosing between package tiers
The Scubapro MK11 EVO / C370 package is our entry-level warm-water recreational package — lighter and more compact, ideal for tropical travel. The MK17 EVO2 / G260 package is our staff pick for a diver who wants one regulator that handles everything: Canadian cold water, tropical warm water, recreational diving, and a pathway into technical configurations. The MK25 EVO packages represent the top of the recreational range — Scubapro's flagship first stage paired with the S600 or G260 second stage. The Scuba Force Black Devil package is the technical-oriented alternative using a European-style modular design preferred by technical and sidemount divers.

Gauge console vs. dive computer — which to choose
A gauge console provides analog readings: tank pressure, depth, and optionally a compass. A dive computer provides the same information digitally, plus real-time no-decompression limit tracking, dive logging, and ascent rate monitoring — significantly improving safety margins for recreational divers. For most new divers purchasing their first regulator package, we recommend configuring with a wrist dive computer rather than a console. Pony bottle and stage bottle packages
The Scuba Force Black Devil DIN Stage Bottle Set and Aropec Zenith Pony Regulator Set are designed for divers who carry a small backup or deco cylinder — either a pony bottle for safety redundancy or a stage cylinder for extended range and decompression diving. These are DIN first stage setups sized for smaller cylinder valves and configured for sidemount or clipped-off stage bottle use. If you are setting up a pony bottle system for the first time, contact us before ordering to confirm the right configuration for your primary setup.

Yes — all regulator packages are assembled, pressurized, and tested prior to shipping. You receive a complete, ready-to-dive system rather than individual components to assemble yourself. If you have specific configuration preferences — hose length, DIN vs. yoke, backup regulator selection, or computer choice — note these at checkout or contact us before ordering and we will configure the package to your specifications.

Can I customize a package with a different backup regulator or computer?

Yes — each package page shows optional upgrade selections at checkout. For the gauge console, you can upgrade to a three-gauge console adding a compass, or swap to a wrist dive computer entirely. Is it better to buy a regulator package or build my own from individual components?

For most recreational divers, a package is the better starting point — the components are matched and tested together, the combined price is lower than buying the same pieces individually, and the selection process is simplified. Building from individual components makes more sense for technical divers who need a specific first stage model, hose configuration, or second stage not available in a pre-built package.
