Buy mask with corrective optical lenses - can't see the fish? Can't read your gauge or dive computer? Our pre-made optical lenses will help correct your vision while scuba diving or snorkeling. The pre-made lenses are kept in stock so we can usually ship within 24 hours. They aren't your exact prescription, but they work very well for most people. The lenses will correct for nearsighted, farsighted, or close-up reader lenses.

What to know about pre-made optical lenses for dive masks

Not your exact prescription — but close enough for most people
Pre-made lenses come in standard diopter increments, not ground to your individual prescription. For the short duration of a dive or snorkel, the difference is barely noticeable for most divers. We have sold thousands of these lenses and the vast majority of customers find them very effective. If your prescription is highly complex or your two eyes are significantly different, custom lenses are a better fit.

Three types — negative, positive, and reader
Negative (minus) lenses correct near-sightedness, available from -1.0 to -10.0. Positive (plus) lenses correct far-sightedness, available from +1.0 to +6.0. Reader lenses occupy only the lower third of the mask lens and help you read gauges, dive computers, or cameras close-up — available from +1.0 to +4.0. Not sure which you need? Download our generic lens calculator.

In stock and installed same day
Because we keep all diopter increments in stock, there is no waiting for manufacture. Orders placed before our daily shipping cutoff typically ship within 24 hours. If you are local to Edmonton, bring your prescription in and we will install the lenses while you wait and you can try them right away — usually takes just a few minutes.

Compatible with most two-lens (double-lens) masks
Pre-made optical lenses fit into the lens frame of standard double-lens dive masks, including the Saekodive Moray and Tusa Ceos. Single-lens and frameless masks do not accept optical inserts. Not sure if your mask is compatible? Email us the mask model and we will confirm. If you just need help reading close-up and don't want to replace your mask, our stick-on reader lenses work with any mask.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know which diopter strength to order?

Look at the Sphere (SPH) value on your eyeglasses prescription — this is your diopter strength. If the number is negative (e.g. -2.50), you are near-sighted and need a negative lens. If it is positive (e.g. +1.75), you are far-sighted and need a positive lens. We stock in whole and half increments. Round to the nearest available increment — for most people, a half-diopter difference is not noticeable underwater. If your two eyes have different values, we install a different lens in each side. Use our generic lens calculator for help, or call us at (888) 483-0049.

Can I get a different lens strength in each eye?

Yes — this is very common. Most people have slightly different prescriptions between their left and right eyes. When ordering, simply specify the diopter you need for each eye and we will install the correct lens on each side. There is no extra charge for mixed strengths.

Will pre-made lenses work if I have astigmatism?

Pre-made lenses do not correct for astigmatism (the Cylinder/CYL value on your prescription). If your astigmatism is mild, many people find the distance correction alone makes enough difference to dive and snorkel comfortably. If your astigmatism is significant, custom prescription lenses are the right option as they can be ground to include your full prescription including astigmatism correction.

How do I read my eyeglasses prescription to choose the right lens?

Your prescription will show OD (right eye) and OS (left eye) with values for Sphere (SPH), Cylinder (CYL), and Axis. For pre-made lenses, you only need the SPH value from each eye. Ignore the CYL and Axis values — pre-made lenses do not address those. If your SPH is listed as "plano" or "0.00" for one eye, that eye does not need correction. Still unsure? Email us a photo of your prescription and we will recommend the right lens for you.

What if the pre-made lenses don't work well for me?

If you try the lenses and find they are not providing enough correction, or the mismatch between the pre-made strength and your exact prescription is too noticeable, we can discuss upgrading to custom-ground lenses. Custom lenses are manufactured to your exact prescription including astigmatism, prismatic correction, and precise pupillary distance matching. Contact us and we will walk you through the options.
