What Sea Dragon lights does Sealife make and how do they differ?

Sealife's Sea Dragon light range spans from compact entry-level single lights through high-output dual-light kits. Models vary by lumen output, battery type (some are rechargeable via USB, others use standard batteries), and mounting system (Flex-Connect compatible or standard cold-shoe). Lower-output Sea Dragon lights in the 650 to 2000 lumen range suit a single light on a compact tray for the Micro camera or SportDiver housing. Higher-output models in the 3000 to 5000 lumen range suit serious video work and dual-light setups. All Sea Dragon lights use the same Flex-Connect arm-compatible mount, making them interchangeable across Sealife's tray and arm system without adapters. Are Sealife Sea Dragon lights compatible with non-Sealife camera systems?

Sea Dragon lights can be used with non-Sealife camera systems via a ball-mount adapter — the Flex-Connect mount on Sea Dragon lights accepts a Flex-Connect to 1-inch ball adapter, which then connects to any standard ball-mount arm from Big Blue, Ultralight, or other manufacturers. In the reverse direction, a 1-inch ball to Flex-Connect adapter allows non-Sealife lights to be used on Sealife Flex-Connect arms. Contact us before purchasing if you are planning to mix Sealife lights with a non-Sealife tray system — we can confirm whether the specific adapter is available and which combination works cleanest for your setup.

What is included when I buy a Sealife camera and light bundle?

Sealife sells their cameras and Sea Dragon lights in several pre-configured bundle sets that include varying combinations of camera, light, tray, arms, and handle. The specific inclusions vary by bundle — typically: one or two Sea Dragon lights, a Flex-Connect tray, one or two Flex-Connect grips, and charging cables.
