What is CRI? Color Rendering Index
CRI is a measure of a light source's ability to show object colors "realistically" or "naturally" compared to daylight, which has a CRI of 100 and represents the maximum value. The beam angles for video lights are shown as the true, tested “in-air” (above water) beam angle. Underwater, due to light refraction, the angle tightens to approximately 33% less.
Beam Angle
The beam angles for the video lights are shown as the true, tested “in-air” (above water) beam angle. Underwater, due to light refraction, the angle tightens to approximately 33% less. For underwater video or photo, you want a wide or flood beam. A spot beam is great for poking in cracks and crevices, but will show as a dancing bright dot in your underwater photos and video. The higher the degree, the wider the beam.
Red Focus Light
Some diving conditions make it difficult for your camera to focus on the subject, for example while diving at night or under low light. A red focus light will help illuminate your subject with enough contrast to allow your camera to focus (auto or manually) and create a better, sharper image. The red light is also undetectable by marine life and won't scare them into hiding like a bright white light will.

Flood-Free Design
Sola dive lights have a factory sealed body so you never need to worry about flooding. Control is accomplished with a magnetic slider on the top of the body. Slide forward or back to turn on. Hold forward or back to turn off. Rotate to lock.
Smart Dashboard
Three indicator lights behind the bezel report battery status, output setting, and charge status; slide forward to increments the power levels.
External Charge
Recharging the light is done externally, no batteries to change and no need to open the light, eliminating the chance of a flood. Built-in lithium-ion battery is charged through external charge ports with gold plated receivers for years of use. Factory sealed design makes charging fast and easy without ever having to open the light. Multi-voltage charger interchangeable blades and external wet connection gold plated charge pins for long life.
Mounting Options
All Sola lights are compatible with a variety of mounting options including: Ballistac Handstrap, Ball Mount, Loc Line Mount.
Maintenance
- Fresh Water Rinse - Give the light a good rinse with clean, fresh water and run the slider switch up and down a few times to clear out any sand or debris. Open your tank valve a bit to spray some air onto the charging ports to clear any water droplets to prevent corrosion from occurring.
- Regular Charging - Recharge after each dive day to give the light at least 60-80% charg (flashing yellow or green LED indicator) before storing it.
- Charge When Dry - Ensure the charging ports are completely dry and void of any water droplets before plugging in the charging. Minerals in fresh and ocean water will cause corrosion when an electrical current is passed through.
- Cleaning Corrosion - If you do see corrosion on the charging ports or the pins on the charger, use a diluted vinegar solution (1 part vinegar, 1 part water) and some Q-tips to clean the corrosion off. Be careful using something more abrasive as the metal coating might get scratched away with persistent abrasive cleaning.
