High Quality Gear - Divemaster & Instructor tested and approved
Buy scuba diving gauge consoles in Canada — submersible pressure gauges (SPG), depth gauges, two-gauge and three-gauge consoles, and digital gauge consoles from Scubapro, Cressi, and Saekodive. An analog gauge console provides reliable, battery-independent tank pressure and depth readings and is used as a primary instrument by some divers and as a backup by divers who run a wrist computer as their primary. A three-gauge console adds a compass for navigation without a separate wrist-mounted compass.

Frequently asked questions
Do I still need a pressure gauge if I have an air-integrated dive computer?
Most recreational divers who use an air-integrated computer carry an analog SPG as a backup, particularly for diving in conditions where transmitter failure would be inconvenient or dangerous — cold water diving, low visibility, or remote dive sites with limited surface support. A transmitter failure or dead battery leaves you without any tank pressure information if an SPG is not present. For diving at a supervised tropical resort with short, shallow profiles, many divers dive with the computer alone. For Canadian diving or any situation where a gas emergency would be more serious to manage, a backup SPG is recommended.
How do I know when my tank is getting low using a pressure gauge?
Tank pressure is measured in PSI (pounds per square inch) or BAR depending on the gauge. A standard aluminum 80 cubic foot tank starts at approximately 3000 PSI or 207 BAR when full. Most recreational divers are taught to surface with a minimum of 500 PSI (35 BAR) remaining. These numbers assume a standard profile and average gas consumption. If you dive with a faster SAC rate, run colder, or dive at greater depths, adjust your turn pressure upward accordingly. A dive computer with air integration will monitor these margins automatically based on your actual consumption rate.
Can I replace just the pressure gauge or depth gauge on my console?
On most consoles, individual gauges are sealed into the console body and are not designed to be replaced independently — a failed gauge typically means replacing the full console. The exception is modular technical console systems where individual instrument pods can be swapped. If your gauge is reading inaccurately, check whether the high-pressure hose connection is fully seated and leak-free before assuming the gauge itself has failed. Gauge calibration drift is uncommon in quality instruments but does occur over many years of use. Contact us with your console model if you are experiencing inaccurate readings and we can advise on whether a replacement or professional service is the right course of action.
