Why mesh is the right material for diving
Salt water, sand, and chlorine make wet dive gear a challenging thing to transport. A sealed nylon bag traps moisture — gear that goes in wet comes out still damp hours later and starts developing odor and mildew quickly. Mesh drains immediately when lifted out of the water or set down after rinsing, allows airflow from all sides, and lets gear dry significantly faster. On a dive boat where space is limited and bags get wet by default, mesh is the standard.
