What Sealife Flex-Connect components do I need to build a basic camera setup?
A basic one-light Sealife setup requires a Flex-Connect tray and a Flex-Connect grip, both of which normally come with the Sealife video lights. For a more stable two-handed grip and the ability to expand to two lights, the Flex-Connect Dual Tray with two grips is the better base. All components lock together with the same Flex-Connect push-lock mechanism without tools. The Flex-Connect Arm extends the grip and provides more flexibility to where you can move your light making it a valuable addition to your Flex-Connect system. Can I use Sealife Flex-Connect arms with a non-Sealife camera?
Yes — Sealife Flex-Connect arms and trays can be used with non-Sealife cameras via a Flex-Connect to cold-shoe adapter or a Flex-Connect to ball-mount adapter. If your camera housing has a standard cold-shoe mount on the top, a Flex-Connect cold-shoe adapter allows the Flex-Connect tray to attach directly. If your camera housing uses a standard threaded tripod socket (1/4-20 thread), a tripod thread adapter allows attachment to Flex-Connect components. The reverse is also possible — using Big Blue or other brand arms and trays with a Sealife camera housing via appropriate adapters. Contact us with your specific camera housing model and we can confirm which adapters are needed.
